Chapter 9&10 Summary
All the kids try to hunt down the beast but find a dead parachutist instead. Ralph calls in a meeting and Jack calls Ralph a coward at the meeting and starts his own tribe. They then kill a bore and put the head on a stick. Afterwards they throw a party which Piggy and Jack join to make sure nothing happens. Simon is climbing up the mountain not knowing about the party and sees the dead parachutist and realizes there is no beast. When he returns to the group he gets killed b/c they think he's the beast. In the morning, Jack steals Piggy's glasses to make fire. Ralph gets angry at him and the chapter ends with the tribe attacking Piggy.
