Characteristics Of Adventure Stories

Adventure stories are a type of fiction in which.....

The main character, or protagonist, may go on a dangerous journey in order to solve a problem or reach a goal.

A villain, or antagonist, may present obstacles that complicate the protagonist's situation, making it harder to solve the problem or reach the goal.

The protagonist may be placed in extreme situations in which he or she is forced to take risks in order to complete the journey.

The setting often changes as the protagonist journeys from place to place, and some of the settings by be unusual or exotic.

The author often creates a sense of suspense, making readers wonder what will happen next and how it will happen.

The plot, or sequence of events is filled with action, and the story is fast paced.
