CELLS

ALL THE PEOPLE IN THIS PICTURE ARE MADE UP OF MANY MANY CELLS
A cell is a basic structural unit of living organisms and it is also the smallest unit of life. Everything that is living is made up of at least one or more cells.
In the picture you see 4 people each of them are made up or millions of cells. The cells in each of their bodies make up tissues, then the tissues make up organs. Those organs make up different organ systems which make up the organism or body.

COMPLEX ORGANIZATION

This dog is an example of a complex organism which has complex organization inside the dog. Dogs for example have complex organization in them. Which means they have a complicated body system and tissues. Animals have many organs and organ systems which make them complex. To be a complex organism you have to have tissue, thats what defines complex organisms as complex organisms.

METABOLISM

ANGELA IS CHEWING ON HER PIECE OF GUM
Metabolism:
Your metabolism is what converts your food you eat into energy that helps your body work. Angela is eating something, when she swallows it it will go through her body and go to her metabolism. Sooner or later the food that angela has been eating will convert into energy that will help angela move and grow. Some people have faster metabolisms like angela it converts the food to energy faster than most people so she gets energy faster than some.

HOMEOSTASIS

In this picture jack is drinking water. We chose this picture because homeostasis is the state of conditions in the body that are regulated.
He needs to have water and a good amount of it to produce the right amount of energy his body needs to keep it regulated and to have the right balance inside his body.

REPRODUCTION

For this picture Jenna and Caleb are holding hands symbolizing a married couple with their child (Angela) that was just born.
What it means to reproduce is to be able to produce new organisms of the same type for example this picture would be the processes of producing a new human being which is Angela. Because Caleb and Jenna are both humans.
This picture is one of the two types of reproduction, sexual reproduction.

-Sexual reproduction is the combination of male and female cells and the contribution of two different parents.
-While the other type of reproduction is asexually which means there is only one contributor.

RESPONSIVNESS

Reponsivness: In this picture Jenna is responding to the hot metal pole. Jenna touched the burning pole and responded by her brain telling her to take her hand off rather than burning her hand. Her brain knew that since she was holding onto the pole something bad would happen.

GROWTH

In this picture Coach Rushing's is being measured with a meter stick. Over the years coach Rushing's has gotten a lot taller and bigger because he has matured. From when you are a baby you will start to grow and keep growing nag get taller. You won't stay that size forever. The older you get the more developed you will be. An organism develops more as it matures.

ADAPT TO ENVIRONMENT

SWEAT IS DRIIPING DOWN HIS HEAD
This picture shows caleb adapting to the hot environment of the highschool. The school is very hot so Calebs body is starting to sweat so his body doesnt overheat. Sweating is helping caleb to cool down and thats how he is adapting to the environment of our school, but by sweating he is also starting to get used to the hot weather inside of the school.
