WHAT IS A CHARISM?

• A divinely conferred gift or power
• A spiritual power that gives an individual authority over people
• Particular personality within the Church

BASIL MOREAU

• Founded Brothers of Holy Cross 175 years ago
• Moreau lead the Brothers of Saint Joseph and the Society of Auxiliary Preists
• Baptised by a fugtive preist since Catholic oders were outlawed at the time
• His leadership within the church still affects the charisms of Holy Cross today

EDUCATION AND CHARISMS

• Moreau called the preists of Holy Cross to be "educators in the faith"
• "We shall always place education sidy by side with instruction..."
• The teachers of Holy Cross have the charism to faithfully educate

TASKS OF BEING CATHOLIC

• Every one is called to perform his tasks in the Church
• We are called to do these tasks with the guidance of our own charisms
• Charisms are also extraordinary graces given to us by God
• Our charisms include our talents and gifts from God
