Poverty Poverty is when someone is very poor. Poverty happens all over the world around us and we don't care. Poverty can ruin someone's life, make them live in hardship, and or even kill them. This is something very serious that we don't take serious enough. Poverty happens most in places like South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
