Vulcanization is a method of making rubber strong and resistant to heat and cold. This helps us make better transportation because we can make better tires which make better cars.

I learned that without Charles Goodyear we wouldn't have such good rubber tires. I also learned that without vulcanization rubber would be sticky. With sticky rubber tires we wouldn't get very far. That is what I learned about Charles Goodyear and rubber.
