CHEMICAL CHANGE

  • Once mixed, you can't reverse the process
  • There could be a color change when mixed
  • There could be a temperature change
  • There could be gas produced

EXAMPLES OF CHEMICAL CHANGE

  • Pool chemicals can make it a different color
  • Coke and mentos can produce gas
  • Vinegar and baking soda
  • Combustion
  • Rust (color change)

PHYSICAL CHANGE

  • This process is reversible
  • You can rip, tear, grind, crush, melt, freeze,
  • condensate, evaporate, or cut objects to have physical change
  • There are many ways to physically change something

EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL CHANGE

  • water to ice(freeze)
  • water vapor to water(condensate)
  • ice to water(melt)
  • water to water vapor(evaporate)
  • you can rip paper
