BERYLLIUM

  • Second lightest metal in the world
  • It's atomic number is 4 and it's mass is 9.012
  • It melts at about 2,348 degrees Farenheit
  • Beryllium is used in airplanes and even computers
  • Beryllium is naturally found in combination of other minerals such as emerald

USES

  • Combined with copper for tools
  • Used to create non-spark tools
  • 50% greater elasticity than Steel
  • A great electric insulator and heat conductor

FUN FACTS/TOXICITY

  • Discovered by V.L Vauquelin
  • Sweet to the taste
  • Inhalation causes incurable infamation
  • If ound in 100 of the 4000 known minerals

ORGIGN/FOUND

  • Mined in the USA
  • Mainly mined at gold hill in Utah
  • Commercial production started in 1957
  • Also mined in the Seward peninsula, Alaska
