PRESENTATION OUTLINE
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
- Born December 6th, 1778
- Born in France
- Died on May 9th, 1850
- His field of Science was Chemistry.
Childhood
- Joseph was privately tutored as a child, where he received an early education.
- During the Revolution, his father was imprisoned.
EDUCATION
- Joseph went to Ecole Polytechnique soon after his father was imprisoned.
- Ecole Polytechnique is an institution of the french revolution.
- He went there to be a lawyer like his father, but progressed in Chemistry.
Science Career
Joseph developed a law stating that gas pressure is directly proportional to absolute temperature. He also developed the law of combining volumes.
Challenges/Difficulties
Josephs father wanted him to become a lawyer but he changed his mind and became a chemist.
The world benefited from his work because he created a law stating gas and pressure is constant, and developed the law of com-binding volume. He was recognized from his gas and pressure law.
Joseph's work impacted me by teaching me laws in Chemistry. The Science world was introduced to his law. Now it will never change. He proved other scientists wrong and showed them how to get the right information.
