VIRAL OR BACTERIAL?
Chicken pox is viral because it is caused by the varicella-zoster virus.
The virus spreads in the air when someone coughs or sneezes.
Can also be spread by touching or breathing the virus paricles.
3.
HOW IT STARTS
4.
FACTS
Red itchy skin rashes appear on face.
Can spread to almost anywhere on the body.
Anyone can inherit this disease.
Mostly 12 year of age and younger.
Found anywhere in the world
5.
PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
To prevent chicken pox, you need to get the vaccine.
This disease is difficult to avoid and almost everyone gets it.
Treatment involves and antiviral medicine.
People should take this medicine within 24 hours of the rash.
Advil and Ibuprofen can increase the rash, do not take them.
6.
SHOULD YOU GO TO SCHOOL?
If you have chicken pox then going to school is not an option.
This disease is contagious, so if you go to school then you could spread it.
