VIRAL OR BACTERIAL?

  • Chicken pox is viral because it is caused by the varicella-zoster virus.
  • The virus spreads in the air when someone coughs or sneezes.
  • Can also be spread by touching or breathing the virus paricles.

HOW IT STARTS

FACTS

  • Red itchy skin rashes appear on face.
  • Can spread to almost anywhere on the body.
  • Anyone can inherit this disease.
  • Mostly 12 year of age and younger.
  • Found anywhere in the world

PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

  • To prevent chicken pox, you need to get the vaccine.
  • This disease is difficult to avoid and almost everyone gets it.
  • Treatment involves and antiviral medicine.
  • People should take this medicine within 24 hours of the rash.
  • Advil and Ibuprofen can increase the rash, do not take them.

SHOULD YOU GO TO SCHOOL?

  • If you have chicken pox then going to school is not an option.
  • This disease is contagious, so if you go to school then you could spread it.
  • Giving out this disease would cause others to get sick
