Chien Shiung Wu was born in 1912 may 31 in liu he near shanghai China her father and her mother Zhong yi and Fanhua fan and her teacher told her to pursue her dreams at becoming and engineer because she was the only child of her family so her parents wanted her to be successful.

so at an early age she entered a girls elementary school because of her father. Named mingde women’s vocational continuing school and the classes that she took was science and mathematics. Then after she joined the soochow souzo school for girls to join a teaching program.then enrolled in gong xue public school in 1930 for a year.Then chien enrolled in the oldest prestigious of higher learning in china.The school’s name was nanjing university also known as ( national central university ). Then she graduated with top honors with a B.S degree in 1934.

At Berkley there she met proffeser lawrence, who was responsible for the first cyclotron and who later won a nobel prize and other chineese physics students luke chia yuan who both encouraged her to stay at berkley. Then she was involved in the work of uranium then after she graduated and got her Ph.d. she married former graduate luke chia liu yuan. And they moved to the east coast. Where they got settled and where chien won many awards.but sadly died in the year of 1997 febuary 16
