Child abuse is doing something or not doing something that results in harm to a child or puts a child at risk of harm

TYPES OF ABUSE

  • Physical Abuse
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Child Neglect

Physical Abuse:
When a parent/guardian causes any non-accidental physical injury to a child.

EMOTIONAL ABUSE:

A PARENT/GUARDIAN HARMS A CHILD’S MENTAL & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.

Sexual Abuse:
when an adult uses a child for sexual purposes

CHILD NEGLECT:
not being capable of providing a child's basic needs

SIGNS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE INCLUDE:

  • Unexplained Bruises
  • Cuts
  • Burns

Children who have been sexually abused may exhibit overly sexualized behavior or use explicit sexual language

Emotional abuse signs can be from constant crying to fear of almost anything. Many children who suffer from fear of going home or going places with the person who is abusing them

If a child is abused, he/she might have an eating disorder or show changes in eating. The child could eat to comfort them and gain a lot of weight. Or the child won't eat because of all the stress, fear and anxiety going on in their life
