In an article, “Why is Individualism Important?” by an anonymous author argues that the concept of individualism is a key aspect in personal developments. In society, it is important to make decisions and act independently. If we do not, society has the ability to influence us and shape who we are.
All around us, there are spheres of authority constantly dictating our actions like what we should or should not do. Asides laws and authority, the way we have been wired has been influenced in series of ways; like our lifestyles, the way we speak, our thoughts, patterns we’ve adapted, etc. Much of our individualistic tendencies do not develop because we have been conformed to societal norms.
In comparison to “Childen of Eden” many individuals were blindsided because of the way society had influenced their minds.
Becoming our own selves benefits our level of growth and advancement. An example is making challenging and intellectual decision for ourselves without the reliance of others. As we adapt our differences from everyone else, respect is built. The value of an individual who is different simply increases because they attract others to a different point of view. As “Children of Eden” progresses individuality becomes a key aspect in understanding that society had influenced corruptions in their minds.
As “Children of Eden” highlights how individuality plays a major role, we understand that Individualism is a concept that applies to all humans. It is important not only because personal developments increase but because it is applicable to our world when coming to politcal, economical and religious matters.
