There was a man named Thomas Edison.

THOMAS CAME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT CHANGED THE WORLD.

This idea was light.
THEY CALL IT THE LIGHT BULB.
He came up with this idea in 1879.
EVEN THOUGH HE WASN'T THE FIRST WITH THIS IDEA,

he was the only that succeeded.
He improved the idea and made it better.

At first his light stayed lit for 40 hours.
But then he made on to last for 1500 hours.
it was a huge improvement.
it changed people's lives for forever.
Thomas was born on February 11th, 1847.
He has many other inventions, but this was the most famous.
THOMAS couldn't have done it without help.
