Chile won its independence from Spain in 1818 under Bernardo O'Higgins and an Argentinian, José de San Martin.

Chile is the longest country on earth.

Chile has lots of earthquake(but not so much as Japan) because of Chile's geography.

In 2010, Chile had big earthquake,and because of that, heavy damage hit in many way.

Also at Japan, we got heavy damage.
Big tsunami hit, and because of that, the amount of damage was about 5.9billion yen.

Chilean cuisine shows the country's topographical variety. There is an assortment of seafood, beef, fruits, and vegetables.

From 1985 to 1995, Chile lost nearly 2 million hectares of native forest; these forests were destroyed for pulp, and made way for industrial tree farms.

As a result, Chile now has the world's largest expanse of radiata pine tree farms and some of the world's most endangered native forests.
