INTRODUCTION:
- Relationships between them have always been strained
- Chinese army marched into Tibet in 1950 to take control
- Recently two monks have set them self on fire protesting

CAUSES OF DISPUTE:
- Tibet accused china of suppressing their culture, freedom of religion, and expression
- Chinese immigrants moving into Tibet caused discomfort
- The Chinese exiled the Dalai Lama and the former Tibetan government
- The Chinese are trying to choose the Dalai Lama

RESOLUTION:
- Chinese, and former Tibetan government have tried to resolve this issue without any conflict
- They have not made any progress
- China accuses the Tibetans and Dalai Lama of trying to separate
- Little hope for the resolution
