Language: 70% of Chinese population speak Mandarin (putonghua)
Traditions:
This is some traditions that China celebrate through out the year: International women's day March 8, labor day May 1, International children's day June 1.
The most important holiday is Chinese new year,it is celebrated for 7 days usually is in January, the people wish for good fortune, etc. and they give respect to the spirits of they ancestors and gods. They celebrate "in big"(music,fireworks,etc.)
People in dragon costumes wind down the the streets.
History
Dynasties: ruling families called dynasties led china for 4,000 years. This is how it works: when a ruler died, his son or another male relative become the ruler. They believe that the fist dynasty( the Xia) began around 2100 B.C.
Entertainment
Mountains: The Himalayas in the west of China are the highest mountains in the world. One Himalayan peak, snow Mount Everest, is the world's tallest mountains.
Great wall:
China's Great Wall was build approximately 2,500 years ago. It stretches across more than 3,750 miles( 6,000 kilometers)
Economy
Agricultural: the major agricultural products are rice,wheat,potatoes, sorghum,peanuts,tea, millet,barley,cotton, oilseed,pork,fish
Major imports: machinery and equipment, plastic,chemicals,iron, steel,fuel.
People to celebrate:
Sun Yat-sen was a person that led a successful revolt against the Qing Dynasty( dynasty means: a series of rulers belonging to the same family) He become president of the republic of china in 1912
