• Basis for the civil service exam in china
• These teachings spread to Korea

TAOISM

FOUNDER/ORIGINS

• Founder: Lao-Tse
• Origins: Grew form ancient Chinese philosophies
• That we're merged into one basic teaching

PRINCIPLES

• Tao(Dao) means "The Way"
• Philosophical teaching focuses on balance
• Taoism places a great emphasis on nature
• As the example is the way people live
• With Taoism the Yin Yang reflects the ideals of harmony and balance

DIFFUSION

• Taoism spread to many areas around China
• Also as been incorporated into teachings and beliefs
