3.
THE NEW FIRE OF EASTER
It is lit at the Easter Vigil
The fire represents the light of Christ beating darkness and death
Some people kindle the fire from steel or stone like in ancient times
After the prayer, the fire is then used to light the Pascal Candle.
This typically happens in darkness

THE PASCHAL CANDLE
The Paschal Candle is lit from the new fire of Easter
It is large and white and used at liturgy
As well as Easter, it is used at ceremonies throughout the year.
The flames symbolize the eternal presence of Christ

IN AN EASTER GARDEN, YOU WOULD FIND:
Three wooden crosses on top of a grass hill
A tomb made from soil with a stone door
A path from the door made of gravel to show where the disciples ran.
Planted primroses planted in egg cups.

EASTER EGGS
The custom of giving eggs at easter symbolizes new life
The egg is a symbol of Jesus' resurrection
And when they crack open, it symbolizes the open tomb
The egg is a reminder that He will rise from his tomb and bring new life
