PRESENTATION OUTLINE
There Are Different Types of Blood Spatter
1. Arterial Sputter: Which is when blood squirts when an artery, a blood vessel in the human body is cut.
2.) Back Spatter: When the blood flies back towards the the person causing the injury
3.) Cast-Off Pattern: When a cast-off blood stains caused by contact between a wet blood surface and a second surface which may or may not have blood on it
4.) High- Velocity Impact Stain: when a bloodstain that is caused by a high speed force to a blood source caused by a gunshot has a velocity that may be 100 ft/sec. Forms drops greater or equal to 1 mm.
5.) Medium-Velocity Impact Stain:
when a bloodstain that is caused by a medium speed force to a blood source caused by a gunshot has a velocity that may be 25 ft/sec. Forms drops between 1-4 mm.
6.) Low-Velocity Impact Stain:
when a bloodstain that is caused by a low speed force to a blood source caused by a gunshot has a velocity that may be 5 ft/sec. Forms drops 4-6 mm in length.
7.) Passive Drop: when a bloodstain's drop created by the force of gravity all by its self
8.) Swipe Pattern: when blood transfers from a moving source to and unstained source. The direction of the blood is determined by the feather like edge.
9.) Transfer/ Contact Stain: when the bloodstain pattern that was created when wet has contact with another surface
