Christmas translates to "Bozz Narodzenie" in Polish.

Christmas in America, well, is simply said as Christmas.

Christmas Eve in Poland is called Wigilia, and is on December 24th.

Christmas Eve in America is also on December 24th.

In America, Santa's helpers are elves.

In Poland, St. Nicks helpers are Black Pete and either Krampus or Krecht Ruprecht depending on what the child's parents told them growing up

In America Santa comes to the roof of people's houses on a sleigh guided by flying reindeer.

In Poland Swięłty Mikołaj, Santa Clause, arrives on horseback to the streets of children and comes into their houses with Black Peter to deliver the gifts under the tree.

In America we say "Merry Christmas"

In Poland they say "Wesolych Swiat"

Christmas dinner is usually held on Christmas Eve in America and it usually consists of: turkey, rolls, green beans, baked potatoes (mashed or whole), and best of all pie.

In Poland Christmas dinner is held on Christmas Eve at the fist visible star to represent the star of Bethlehem. Little pieces of hay will be stuck under the table cloth to honor the stable in which Jesus was born in. This meal consists of absolutely no meat at all and has twelve dishes to represent the next 12 coming months, while the main cores is usually fish or crabs.

In America, we eat candies such as Kit Kat, Snickers, Twix, and M&M's

In Poland, people eat candies such as Krówki, Orzechowy, and Kurkułka.

Christmas ornaments in America are made by children at school, made with parents, made by other family members, or even bought at the store.

Christmas bombki, or ornaments, in Poland are also made by children in schools except they are usually made from straw. The tree is also required to have a star on top to represent once again, the star of Bethlehem.

In America most people go to a large church service on Christmas Eve, as do the people of Poland.

In Poland they have a "Feast of Saint Martin" on November 11th which starts Advent. Advent is the beginning of preparing for the coming of Christ's child. The women start deep cleaning the kitchen, men and children put up the tree and do whatever the mother asks them to do.

In America we set up the Christmas tree whenever we want to and bake the day before to have a well prepared Christmas dinner.

Other countries can be cool to learn about such as Poland, especially since we can look at how others celebrate the same holidays you and I do here in America!
