Holiday Characters and History

  • Holiday characters: Jesus
  • Character History: When Mary was pregnant, Joseph and Mary didn't have a place to stay, so they found a cabin to stay in to have the baby. When she had the baby, poor shepherds and rich kings came and brought many gifts to celebrate his birth, so that's why they celebrate Christmas.

Decorations

  • Before the celebration they put out many decorations like evergreens, poinsettias, and lilies. Most of the decorations are flowers.
  • Although they do use Pinatas, but it's mostly for the children, not for the grown ups. Unless they want to join in on the fun!
  • While they also use a big giant statue of Jesus for decoration!

Weather

  • Whenever Christmas comes around, it's fairly cold around that year.
  • Yet sometimes it's very warm or between.

Foods that they eat!

  • When it comes to food, they gather around and eat tortillas, sweetbread, drink hot chocolate, eat turkey, and eat a fruit and vegatable salad, and more.
  • They have so much food to eat; they might get too fat!

Gifts!

  • When it comes to presents and all, children put their shoes by a windowsill before going to bed. Then when they wake up they find many gifts inside of them from the three kings. Or they find candy along with the gifts.
  • They don't use Christmas trees nor anything else when it comes to a Mexican Christmas.
