• Named after German bread Stollen
•Now attracts 2 million people a year and has became a famous tradition

• originated in Ulm in 1295
• biscuits similar to gingerbread which were believed to have magical healing powers
• Usually heart-shaped

• Mulled wine
• served hot

• prune dolls sold at Christmas markets
• symbols of good luck which were made to represent chimney sweepers

• originated in Germany around the 15th century
• usually depicted a knight, soldier, or king
