THE 1492 EXPEDITION

• Christopher Columbus left grand canary for the new world on September 9th, 1492
• Was admiral over three caravels

ARRIVAL IN THE NEW WORLD

• Says that the natives would make "wonderful servants"
• States that they could easily be converted
• The natives trade vast quantities of their wealth for "mere trinkets"
• Forcefully abducts some of the natives to help them navigate the carribean in search of gold/the continent
