  • Usually less than 1000 ft
  • Bowl shaped crater
  • Steep sides

  • Medium viscosity
  • Highly adesitic
  • High gas content

ERUPTIONS

  • Strombolian type eruption
  • Magma ejects out of single vent
  • Weak eruption
  • Tephra forms cinders
  • Lava falls on the sides building up the slope
