Cinnamon is a popular spice around the world, often used in the winter it pairs well with nutmeg, clove, and anise.The essential oil is attributed with mood lifting effects.

Taken orally, cinnamon may be useful for flatulence, muscle and gastrointestinal spasms, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, colds, infections, and loss of appetite

Cinnamon is safe when consumed in amounts commonly found in foods and when used appropriately in amounts slightly larger. Some constituents in cinnamon bark may slow heart rate and lower blood pressure. Those with cardiovascular conditions should use cinnamon with caution.
