PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Circle
Definition: of all points from a central point. chord: a line segment within a circle that touches 2 points on the circle. diameter: the longest distance from one end of a circle to the other.
Semi circle
In mathematics (and more specifically geometry), a semicircle is a one-dimensional locus of points that forms half of a circle.
Circumference
is the linear distance around the edge of a closed curve or circular object. The circumference of a circle is of special importance in geometry and trigonometry.
Area of circle
that the formula for circumference of a circle is: . For simplicity, we use = 3.14. We know from the last lesson that the diameter of a circle is twice as long as the radius. This relationship is expressed in the following formula: .
Diameter
In geometry, the diameter of a circle is any straight line segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints lie on the circle. It can also be defined as the longest chord of the circle.
Radius
In classical geometry, the radius of a circle or sphere is the length of a line segment from its center to its perimeter.
Chord
a line segment that joins two points on the circumference of a circle.
Center of a circle
Circle whose center is at the origin. This will be referred to as the "center-radius form".
Pi
Pi is a name given to the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter. That means, for any circle, you can divide the circumference (the distance around the circle) by the diameter and always get exactly the same number.
Formula
A special type of equation that shows the relationship between different variables . Example: The formula for the volume of a box.
