PRESENTATION OUTLINE

INTRODUCTION

THE CITIZENSHIP TEST SHOULDN'T BE SO HARD.

REASONS

  • Making it easier might stop illegal aliens from coming into the US.
  • Immigrants can come in and bring new ideas and new technologies.
  • The new citizens can grow the economy and make money for our country.
Citizenship is the state of being under law or being in a country. Making it easier might stop illegal aliens from coming into the US. Illegal aliens are immigrants that come into the US from borders or from sneaking on ships or over staying there visa. A visa is a card where you can come into a different country for vacation or you may get an immigrant visa which let's you apply to become a citizen. "The legal way to get into the USA is extremely difficult because you need a visa and green card to become a citizen and due to massive related economic issues across the border. A green card lets a person live and work permanently. And they have to pay for the papers. So they think it's easier to come in illegally but making the process easier will stop some. But some others say it can also encourage more illegals because when they get in they might think it's easier to pass"(Jimenez 6). "We are all illegal immigrants know your history we all are illegals so we should make it easier and have every single person take the new and improved test so they can show that they know the basic stuff"(Thre 1). Immigrants can come in and bring new ideas and new technologies. "According to small business administration, immigrants are 30 percent more likely to start there own business than American citizens and 18 percent of all small businesses there owners are immigrants"(Gray 1). But some people say that by making small businesses will put them out of demand so Americans will lose jobs. "According to the Census Bureau, despite making up only 16 percent of the resident population holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, immigrants represent 33 percent of engineers, 27 percent of mathematicians, statisticians, and computer scientist, and 24 percent of physical scientists. Additionally, according to the Partnership for a New American Economy, in 2011, foreign-born inventors were credited with contributing to more than 75 percent of patents issued to the top 10 patent-producing universities."(Gray 4). When they become citizens they can grow the economy and make money for our country. "Immigrants are just as important as any other person and they contribute all to our society. They work in horrible conditions for very cheap labors and they still pay taxes. From studies they also get benefits because they don't make enough money and that hurts our economy" (Jillian 2). "America is a nation of immigrants. Our American journey and our success would simply not be possible without the generations of immigrants who have come to our shores from every corner of the globe. It is helpful to take a moment to reflect on the important contributions by the generations of immigrants who have helped us build our economy, and made America the economic engine of the world"(Furman 1). These reasons show how beneficial it would be if the citizenship test and Naturalization process is easier. Naturalization is a process of becoming a US citizen. To help our economy grow to learn new things and cut down on crime. These reasons will help our country and our Economy so we can be a great national power.
