Doon: Doon is related to the sage. A sage is someone who wants to find the truth by using intelligence to find the truth. This relates to Doon because Doon is very interested with the city and what lies within the city.

Explanation
In the City of Ember, the theme is mystery. The city is hiding a lot of clues from the people of Ember, but the brave Doon and Lina are determined to find the truth about the city and to find the way out of the city. Lina and Doon start looking through the city and begin their long journey that finally leads up to the reveal of a secret city. What really lies above Ember?
