This act is where the northerners had to catch runaway slaves this made the northerners mad because they wanted nothing to do with slavery

Uncle Tom's Cabin

This was a bestselling book in 1852 about a slave and his plantation. The book made both the south and north mad.

Kansas Nebraska Act

An act that let the people decide if Kansas was going to be a slave state or a free state. The act started a war.

Bleeding Kansas

The settlers fought over Kansas on wether it should be free or a slave state; hundreds were killed

Dred Scott Decision

The Decision that slaves can never be citizens which angered the north

John Brown and his army of slaves attack the south. They did not succeed but they scared the south
