More than 250,000 civil rights demonstrators march on Washington, DC, where Martin Luther King Jr. Delivers his "l Have A Dream "speech.

Civil Rights Act of 1964
In 1964, the Civil rights Act
Was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson.
This act outlawed segregation and the Jim Crow laws of the south. It also outlawed discrimination based on race national background , and gender. This law gave the NAACP power in the courts.
