Hood led a massive assault at the battle of chickamauga
Hood returned to field service and at the age of thirty three and was promoted to command the army of Tennessee

He was the governor of Texas during the American civil war
In 1861 Lubbock became governor of Texas.
He join the confederate Army and by 1864 Lubbock was promoted to aide-de-camp for Jefferson Davis.
