MANUFACTURING

• The union north had more manufacturing power than the south
• The north struggled to organize the manufacturing needs
• However the north had the man power to fix that problem
• The south had the slave based economy but lack the man power

NORTH VS SOUTH

• North had 110,000 manufacturing establishments
• South only had a 18,000 manufacturing establishments
• The north had a ten to one advantage on manufactured goods
• The north was technologically advanced then the south
• They could make steel meaning they had better weapons

• The weapon of choice for the north and south were muskets
• the new weapons were grenades at the time
• The rocket launcher was also a new weapon at the time
• These new technological advances are the reason why the civil war
• was so deadly

MINNY BALL

• The new bullet made the musket much more powerful
• The hollow back and groves increased the velocity of the bullet
• If you did not die from impact you would die eventually from damage
• The Minnie ball helped make the civil war so deadly
