THOMAS "STONEWALL" JACKSON

CONFEDERATE GENERAL
General Thomas Stonewall Jackson joined the confederate forces at the battle Bull Run. He earned his nickname "stonewall" during the battlefor not giving up.

General Jackson became one of stop General Lee's most trusted advisors during the war.
On May 2, 1863 General Jackson was shot by his own centuries and died on May 10, 1863.

ROBERT E LEE

CONFEDERATE GENERAL
General Robert E Lee has been considered one of America's most respected generals.

General Lee would consistently perform against what was considered superior Union Army Generals when others would have been defeated.

Generally was known to have rode his favorite horse Traveller.

JAMES LONGSTREET

CONFEDERATE GENERAL
General James Longstreet was known as General Lee's "old war horse".

General Longstreet was known for his calm temperament in battle.

He is famously known to have disagreed with General Lee about the place and conduct of the battle at Gettysburg.

UNION GENERAL
General Ulysses S Grant began the war in the western theater.

He is famous for being a fearless manager of the war and a "fighting general".

General Grant became the 18th president of the United States after the Civil War.

WILLIAM T SHERMAN

UNION GENERAL
General William Tecumseh Sherman first fought in the Civil War in the western theater with general Grant.

General Sherman is known for his march from Atlanta, Georgia to the sea using a scorched earth policy that broke the Confederacy and its will to continue fighting.

GEORGE MEADE

UNION GENERAL
George Gordon Meade was a veteran of the Mexican war and originally joined the Civil War as a volunteer.

General Meade is credited with winning the battle of Gettysburg, despite having to deal with his commanders who challenged his ideas for the battle.
