CIVIL WAR IN SYRIA

TUNISIA AND ARAB SPRING

• Tunisia is a small country in Africa
• They had a dictator
• A guy with a college degree couldn't get a job
• So he started a fruit stand which is illegal
• The government destroyed it so he protested and lit himself on fire
• Which cause the Arab spring which was other countries with dictators protesting

BASHAR AL ASAAD

• Bashar al asaad
• Dictator of Syria
• Got power from father
• Much hope he would be good
• Opened fire on civilians and used chemical warfare

3 CAUSES

• Religion
• French/British mashing different people together
• Asaad taking away human rights

WHO IS FIGHTING

• Assads army
• Rebels/defectors
• Al-queada/Hezzbullah/Isis
• Russia

The U.S. Is playing a small but complicated role because they aren't fighting but they are supplying rebels but we don't know if they are terrorists also we are bringing 10k refugees but we don't want to start a war with Russia

The United Nations doesn't step in because if any of the powerful countries like Russia,China,U.S.,France,and Great Britain step in and say no the United Nations don't step in and Russia and China won't let the United Nations step in because they are friends with Syria and will get more money

• 3 million refugees
