Claim, Evidence, Reasoning

 BY: Makayla Teele

The claim in the text I read was that phones are not like tobacco and they cannot be gotten rid of by an ad like people tried to do with tobacco.

The evidence that the text provided in the paragraphs was that these new things are way more advanced and so they have a new reason for people being addicted to them. Also, phones are taking people into depression and anxiety just like tobacco can do but this time they can't stop it.

The reason that their evidence supports their claim is that it is harder to take something away from people when they are so addicted or when they are in a state of depression because their phone is there a way of life and they think that they can't live without it.

The author of this text did use sound evidence becuase they were able to back it up with facts. Also, they had multiple examples of evidence and not just one thing to support their claim. Overall, the evidence provided in this article was great and sound.
