Clara is a German composer from the romantic era. She was born in Leipzig Germany. Her career lasted for six decades in a time where female composers were rare to find. Despite being in a male dominated field she enjoyed her work.

Schooling After her parents separated, Clara lived with her father and he made sure she got lessons in piano, violin, singing, theory, harmony, composition, and counterpoint along with her regular schooling.
September 12, 1840 Clara got married to Robert Schumann. They had eight kids. They were Marie-D, Elsie-D, Julie-D, Emil-S, Ludwig-S, Ferdinand-S, Eugenie-D, Felix-S.
Clara died May 20, 1896 in Frankfort Germany. She suffered a stroke on March 26. She was 76 when she died. She was buried in Bonn at Alter Friedhof next to her husband, according to her own wish.
