Rome

  • Roman religion was initially polytheistic. They integrated Greek gods and foreign cults into their religion, bonding religion and myth into one.

Rome

  • Roman government was lead by two consuls. These men regulated the army Women were not permitted to be consuls.

China

  • The two main religions in China were Confucianism & Taoism.
  • Their government consisted of centralized rule.

China

  • Most revenue came from wheat and rice production
  • Had settlements that would organize their own local structure, there was a lot of social separation.

India

  • The main religions in India were Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism.
  • The society was very patriarchical and run by male leaders only. Many women were not given the same rights as compared to the rights of men.

India

  • The agriculture of india was very important, farmers would sow wheat, and barley for large sums of money.
  • India was broken up into a social caste system which ranked people based on their ancestors caste. Once you were in a caste, you would not be able to get out.

Last Part

  • Trade was vital for early Rome because in order to upkeep Rome’s expensive costs, it was necessary to get large sums of money from trade. Mare Nostrum made it so that the Romans had to share these waters with Italy so because Italy was apparently the successor to the Roman Empire.
