PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CLEAN ENERGY

Using solar power, we can use sunlight to harmlessly generate electricity to feed our country's need for electricity.

PROS

  • The Earth recieves more sunlight than we can consume
  • Earths sunlight will provide for millions of years to come
  • Cheaper than current electricity costs
  • If unavailable to hold panels in a yard, community panels can be shared
  • Low maintenance is recquired

CONS

  • Clouds can starve earth of sunlight
  • The process of making solar panels gives off potent gases
  • Materials required for panels are rare and expensive
  • To be efficient, much space is recquired
  • The batteries to power panels are expensive

COAL

A NATURAL RESOURCE THAT FUELS ALL DIFFERENT PURPOSES

PROS

  • Abundant in industrialized countries
  • Relatively Cheap
  • Can be converted to cleaner forms
  • The industry is well established and matured
  • Very reliable

CONS

  • Nonrenewable, we will run out
  • Unsafe to live near coal mines
  • Causes acid rain
  • Remains of used coal are hazardous
  • Clean coal is not carbon free

In summary, economic advantages far out-way the negatives, but are incredibly dangerous to the survival of the life on our planet. Safer consumption of energy requires more time and money, but will be detrimental to the survival of mankind.
