• Little is known about Cleopatra's mother

• Leaving 18-year-old Cleopatra with the throne
• Due to tradition she had to marry her 10-year-old brother

• Soon after she fled to Syria
• There she assembled an army to conquor Egypt
• In 48 B.C. she returned to Egypt

• With Caesar, Cleopatra was able to solidify her grip on the throne
• Caesar was her way to get more military access

• In 47 B.C. she gave birth to a son and named him Caesarion
• Caesar never acknowledged the boy
• There is still debate about whether he was Caesar's child

• Cleopatra and Antony and end up having 3 children

• Antony reacted by killing himself
• When Cleopatra hears of this she locked her self in a room with a cobra
• Cleopatra died on August 12, 30 B.C.
• She was buried with Antony just as the two had wished

• Cleopatra and Antony are forced to flee back to Egypt
