* The stories and myths surrounding Cleopatra's tragic life inspired a number of books, movies and plays, including 'Antony and Cleopatra' by Shakespeare
Cleopatra was actually "Cleopatra VII"

Cleopatra was a powerful and important woman. She didn't need to seduce Caesar and Mark Antony.
Many reasons why Caesar and Antony has a sexual relationship with her.
1.) Political relations between Rome and Egypt went back generations.
2.)Common for Caesar and Antony to have contact with royal women. The only difference is that Cleo wasn't shy about her kids paternity.
3.) After Caesar's death she needed to maintain a close relationship with Mark because he had control over the Eastern Roman Empire.
Cleopatra was a writer; she wrote a medical paper called "Cosmetics"
* It was actually a Cosmo article. It was a medical pharmacological work. It had several remedies for hair loss and dandruff.
Cleopatra murdered 2 of her siblings.
She has Mark kill her younger sister, Arsinoe. And her brothers both ruled for a short time. She poisoned another brother.
Cleo was in Rome when Caesar was assassinated
*Romans weren't so thrilled with their relationship. Her visit probably provided the final decision to end Caesar.
Cleopatra had 4 children, only one survived to adulthood.
She had a son from Caesar. She had twins and another boy from Antony. Her daughter Cleopatra Selene eventually became queen of Mauretania
*Cleo succesfully expanded her kingdom
*Cleopatra was not friendly with Herod, King of Judea (same king that sought the baby Jesus) was a constant power struggle with Cleopatra
*Cleopatra was most likely a Roman citizen. Rome would often grant citizenship upon allied kings.
