PRESENTATION OUTLINE

"How Climate Affect Housing"

  • The tropical wet-dry climate is a major climate type.
  • This climate type has distinct wet and dry seasons
  • with the wet seasons being in the summer.
  • High temperatures are characteristic of this climate.

DRY

  • A dry climate is a climate whose aggregate weather condition comprise
  • a limited amount of precioitation . in areas affected by this climate , the average
  • rate of evaporation and transpiration surpasses total precipitation received.

MODERATE,MEDITERRANEAN AND MARINE WEST COAST.

  • Marine West Coast is usually located along the west coast of mid-latitude continents.
  • This is a very mild climate, with few extremes in temperature
  • The coldest month rarely averages lower than 30 degrees and the warmest month averages about 72 degrees
  • The ocean keeps the air over the land cool in summer and warm in the winter
  • This creates a mild, but wet climate. This climate is similar to a Mediterranean climate because of the influence of ocean currents, but they are greatly different in the level of precipitation.

HUMID Continental.

  • A continental climate is a type of climate that is characterised by cold winters,
  • hot summers, little rainfall, typical to the interior of a particular continent.
  • Continental climates include the central parts of Asia and areas in North America.

Humid subtropical.

  • subtropical climate characterized is hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.

SUBARCTIC

  • The subarctic climate is defined as a climate that is characterize long winters that are usually very cold and summers that are short and cool to mild.
  • This climate is also called the boreal climate.
  • This type of climate is offers extreme seasonal temperatures where the winter
  • temperatures can drop to a negative 40-degrees Fahrenheit and summer temperatures can exceed 86-degrees Fahrenheit.
  • This type of climate can be found on large landmasses that are generally away from the effects of the ocean.

HOW CAN CLIMATE AFFECT HOUSING?

  • The types of house built are always to suit the climate.
  • Otherwise, the homes would be more vulnerable.
  • The houses would be made from a suitable material.

What type of climate do we live in?

  • Humid Subtropical.
  • Hot and cold.

how do home we live in reflect the climate?

  • We adjust how live according to the climate where we live.
  • we adjust by wearing clothes that are made form fabrics that allow air to reah the skin.
  • These clothes are often sleeveless and shorts than what people in colder climates wear.
