STRATUS CLOUDS

  • Stratus clouds are uniform,grayish clouds that often cover up the entire sky.
  • The altitude of a stratus cloud is about 3 kilometers.
  • Stratus clouds are usually associated with overcast weather.

CIRRUS CLOUDS

  • Cirrus clouds are thin,wispy clouds blown by high winds into long streamers.
  • The altitude of a cirrus cloud is about 12 kilometers high.
  • Cirrus clouds are generally associated with warm,pleasant weather.

CUMULUS CLOUDS

  • Cumulus clouds are puffy clouds that often look like pieces of cotton.
  • The altitude of a cumulus cloud is about 3 kilometers high.
  • Fair weather is usually associated with these clouds,but they can cause short,heavy rainfall.

  • Fog is a thick cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere.
  • The altitude of fog is about ground level.
  • Fog brings cold weather with a little wind and high humidity.
