  • It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999 and is organized by Goldenvoice
  • It became a annual basis in April 2001
  • It it held on a 3 day weekend in April every year
  • Many band and rappers preform there every year

Held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio,California and located in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.

It is important to entertainment marketing because it is a very popular event which is big for business and money

Coachella is sponsored by many major companies such as H and M clothing retailer, Redbull, playstation, and many beer companies such as Heineken.

Coachella is advertised mostly on the Internet and on posters

Business spends an average of 25 million a year for Coachella and 75 million revenue

Most of the money spent on Coachella is for equipment, entertainment, food/drinks, and shopping centers

Not only does Coachella make most of its money from sales it also makes money from the clubs and stores there

  • Coachella is the most profitable music festival in the US today.
  • In 2011, the festival sold out in just six days & drew a record crowd of 225,000!
  • the first weekend of Coachella 2012, there were 134 arrests (80% alcohol related and 20% drug related)
  • Hundreds of people camp outside for days just to find a spot to stand in
  • A lot of people go to Coachella not for the music but to party and to hang out with friendss
