PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Untitled Slide
- We decided to build a website with Code Academy because it was not as time consuming as the other options.
Unit 1: Structure Your Page
Use HTML to add text, images, and links
Unit 1
- First, we started out simple with just making the navigation bar. Then, we grouped the the content into sections. Next, we added a large feature to the website and added supporting content.
Unit 2: Style Your Text
Use CSS to add color and change fonts
Unit 2
- In this unit we created CSS rules that style the HTML. We added color, font size, font weight, font family, color, background color, and background images. We also added padding to the top, bottom, left, and right of the web page.
Unit 3: Style Your Elements
Use CSS to change backgrounds, add borders, and control spacing
Unit 3
- In this section we created the CSS rules. With these rules we were able to change where the elements sit on the page and create good looking page layouts.
Unit 4: Organize Your Page
Use CSS to rearrange your content and create a page layout
Unit 4
- In this section we used display, potion, and float to control where an element sits on a page.
Unit 5: Kickstart Your Web Page
Use CSS framework to build professional pages faster
Unit 5
- We added Bootstrap which is a collection of prewritten CSS rules to build a web page faster. We used these pre-set rules to help build the rest of our webpage.
Design Choices
- I liked this presentation tool because it was different and it was easy to add in the screenshots of Code Academy.
SWOT Analysis
- Haiku Desk was very easy to work with and to figure out for first time users. I think that it could have had more options to customize the slides. I think that this is a good tool to use because its very user friendly, but I think that it should be used to make simple presentations.
Reflection
- This was an interesting experience. It gave a new appreciation for people who do this as a career because it was very difficult. It was challenging, but it was a good kind of challenge. I felt accomplished when I was able to get the coding right.
