Shakespeare's works influenced modern times through movies and phrases that we use

He was the base for a lot of movies and some of his plays have been used more than others like Romeo and Juliet
He was also the first to use many phrases still used by people today such as “a sorry sight" “all of a sudden" or “in a pickle

Shakespeare was the influence to many modern tv shows and movies

Shakespeare is the mastermind behind a lot of the plots we see today like hunger games with star crossed lovers or lion king which is based on hamlet

ONE MOVIE HE INFLUENCED WAS "WEST SIDE STORY"

One if not the biggest things he influenced was the plot of “West Side Story"
It was based off of Romeo and Juliet with two people who love each other but can't be together

"This updated version of Romeo and Juliet recast Shakespeare's feuding Italian families as modern New York gangs, so audiences could not lose themselves in a theatrical fantasy world"

*read quote*
Lots of people have seen this West Side Story which has made them familiar with Shakespeare and has carried on his works

TODAY, WE STILL USE SOME OF SHAKESPEARE'S PHRASES IN CONVERSATION AND LITERATURE

LLike I mentioned before phrases like “a sorry sight" “All of a sudden" or “in a pickle" are still used when we talk, write, or read
Shakespeare was the first to use these and they have stuck

"The Oxford English Dictionary credits Shakespeare as the first to use these words, among others, 'arch-villain', 'bedazzle', 'cheap' (as in vulgar or flashy)"

As well as those phrases shakespeare was also the first to use the words: arch-villain, bedazzle, and cheap
He was the one to come up with them and these too have stuck
