CONFLICTS IN THE COLONY
Around 1644 Native Americans attacked the colony, and did not end until peace was signed in 1652
During an English Civil War, religious conflicts would occur in the colony
A Protestant revolution would occur in 1689, returning it as a royal colony

INTERESTING FACTS
Passed Maryland Toleration Act, which would mandate toleration for other Christians
Only proprietary colony given to a Catholic by the British government
By the 18th century was an effective plantation colony
Location of the Mason-Dixon Line
One of the last two proprietary colonies
Would become proprietary government again in 1769
