The water battles at the colosseum in Ancient Rome were documented by Ancient Rome writers. The colosseum was used for sea warfare, or simulations. The experts can't find out how the water got into the colosseum. The roman historian, Suetonis, wrote that in 80AD Emperor Domitian employed enough vessels for the inaugural games to form two complete armadas. They had also brought in people in on ships, who engaged in a sea-fight there, impersonating the Corcyeans and Corinthians.
