  • John Winthrop was also the 1st governor of Massachusetts.

Religion

  • Everyone had to be Catholics.
  • There was no religious freedom.

REGION

  • Massachusetts is in the New England region.

GEOGRAPHY

  • Harbor (Massachusetts was called the Bay Colony).
  • Jagged rocks and uneven soil.
  • Tree covered mountains and rivers.

ECONOMY

  • Agriculture, crops, cattle,fruits, veggies.
  • Iron, shipbuilding industry.
  • Fish, timber.
