6th Grade:

Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

7th Grade:

Analyze how particular elements of a story or drama interact (e.g., how setting shapes the characters or plot).

How does each element effect others to drive the story?

8th Grade:

Analyze how particular lines of dialogue or incidents in a story or drama propel the action, reveal aspects of a character, or provoke a decision.

Student should have a thorough understanding of the plot.
Requires in depth analysis of the character, characters personalities, and identification of particular lines or incidents that drive the story.

Activities:
6th grade: Using http://www.storyboardthat.com/, students will illustrate a plot sequence of a text including at least one character's reactions/ changes in response to plot events.
7th grade: Using https://www.timetoast.com/, students will illustrate how one element of story drives another (plot, character, setting etc.)
8th grade: Students will create a fakebook using particular lines of dialogue/ incidents to demonstrate how they effect the plot.
